Murder of four members of the same family, formation of special police teams, intensified investigation!
Three special teams have been formed to solve the case of murder of four members of a family in the dry area of Haduvalli in Bhatkala taluk.
Eshambhu Bhat (65), his wife Madevi (60), son Rajeev (40) and daughter-in-law Kusuma (35) were hacked to death in Onibagilu village near Bhatkal.
Four dead bodies were scattered outside the house. Shambhu Bhatt's elder niece Vidya Bhatt's brother Vinay is said to have committed the murder.
Shambhu Bhatt's elder son Sridhar Shambhu Bhatt was suffering from kidney failure for some time and he breathed his last while undergoing dialysis about six months ago. The property dispute started from the day of his death.
The elder son and daughter-in-law had settled in the city for their priestly career instead of in the original house. After the death of the son, the daughter-in-law stayed here and her brother Vinaya often went to Haduvalli and quarreled to give the share, so Shambhu Bhatt divided the property with two sons, three daughters and himself as husband and wife.
It is said that there was a dispute about the construction of the barn on Friday morning. In the morning there was a fight about the barn and this barbaric act took place in the afternoon. As already complained, it is said that Vinaya was murdered by the cousin of elder daughter-in-law Vidya and her father Sridhara.
The police suspect that the role of the elder daughter-in-law is behind the murder and have taken the two accused into custody. Teams were formed under the leadership of Bhatkal DySP and CPI.
